Velox Raid

Designed specifically as a flat-water boat, this K1 has had great success on flat-water marathon, winning the World Marathon Championships in 2013.

It has good directional stability and an excellent sprint or maximum speed. It additionally has a high cruising speed, and requires little effort to keep it on a plane, which is crucial for a marathon boat. It can take a paddler of up to 90kg on flat water, and 85kg on river.

It has a "V" shaped hull from the nose through to the back of the cockpit. From there it becomes a round and full, giving good volume. This prevents the tail from sinking into the water, alleviating the porpoise effect that can occur in boats and ensuring good speed through a turn.
